Tripura CM inaugurates Science city at Siddhiashram

Agartala, Jan 04 (FD) Science is the first stair for development, therefore one should stay updated with the science, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said on Wednesday.

Inaugurating the newly built Agartala Science City at Siddhiashram near here Dr Saha pointed out how a country like Israel with about 93 lakh citizens has become one of the most powerful countries in the world with the help of science and technology.

He expressed hope that Prime Minister Modi has the vision to develop the country through proper utilization of science and technology.

Addressing the programme, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma said, the construction of the science city was completed only 30 percent till 2019 and no financial allowances was sanctioned by the former government to complete the constriction work.

With the prompt initiative of PWD, the present government completed the work in a short period of time, he added.

DONER spent 22.68 crore, state government 24.70 crore and SPA gave 20 crore to complete the constriction work.

Director General of NCSM, Arijit Dutta Chowdhury, Minister Ram Prasad Paul, MLA Mimi Chakraborty, AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder and others were present in the inaugural programme. FD PD
