Tripura CM inaugurates 12th pharmacist day programme at RIPSAT

Agartala, Sep 26 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated 12th World Pharmacist Day celebration on Sunday at the Regional Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (RIPSAT) here, officials said today.
The Chief Minister in his address said that health staff other than doctors and nurses in serving the health department of the state has a crucial role in helping the ailing patients.
A voluntary blood donation camp was organized and Dr. Manik Saha motivated the volunteers who participated in the drive.
The theme behind this year’s Pharmacist Day is “Pharmacy united in action for a healthier world”. In his speech, Dr. Manik Saha said, students from other states are also seeking admission in RIPSAT presently. The government is also taking necessary actions to hire important faculties and vacant job posts in RIPSAT. The success of the students in RIPSAT in various fields will bring glory to the state, said the Chief Minister.
The function was attended by the secretary of Health and family welfare Dr. Debasis Basu, Medical education director Dr. Chinmoy Biswas, officer of medical department Dr. Subhashish Debbarma and Bengaluru’s Al-Ameen college of pharmacy dean Professor Salauddin.
