Agartala, May 26 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and congratulated him on completing 12 years of public service under his leadership. During the meeting, the Chief Minister extended his best wishes and appreciated the Prime Minister’s contribution toward the nation’s development and welfare.
Dr. Saha praised the transformational progress witnessed across India over the past decade, stating that several flagship initiatives introduced under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership have positively impacted millions of citizens. He highlighted schemes such as Digital India, Swachh Bharat Mission, Ayushman Bharat and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana as key contributors toward building a self-reliant India.
The Chief Minister also acknowledged the rapid pace of infrastructure growth and India’s rising global stature during the Prime Minister’s tenure. He commended the Prime Minister’s dedication, commitment, and continuous efforts for the welfare of the people and the development of the country.
During the discussion, Dr. Saha placed several important development proposals related to Tripura before the Prime Minister. These included the establishment of an AIIMS in the state, expansion of the national highway from Kamalpur to Sabroom, strengthening of the dairy industry, development of sports infrastructure, double railway lines, and the introduction of the Vande Bharat Express in Tripura.
The Chief Minister also discussed employment generation in the technology sector, tourism development, financial matters, additional housing allocations under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, increasing the number of Eklavya Model Residential Schools, expanding ration card coverage for the Bru community, and enhancing natural gas allocation for the state.
Expressing optimism after the meeting, Dr. Saha stated that the coordinated efforts of the Centre and the state government under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership would further accelerate Tripura’s overall development and public welfare initiatives in the coming years. FD SB
