Agartala, Jan 07 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Saturday claimed that the law and order situation has improved drastically after the BJP-IPFT government came to power and blamed the previous Marxist government of indulging in murder and terror.
“A feel good situation is prevailing now in the state after the BJP-IPFT government came to power and the law and order situation has improved drastically after the BJP-IPFT government came to power”, he said addressing a public rally organized by the party on the occasion of arrival of the Rath Yatra at Kumarghat, about 120 km from here.
The previous government was a government of murder and terror and there was corruption in every block. But during the current BJP-led government’s role no one can complain of any corruption, Saha added.
The Bharatiya Janata Party's 'Jan Biswas Yatra' is getting massive support from people wherever it goes, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said on Saturday.
Targeting opposition for commenting on the Rath Yatra, the Chief Minister said that only studying during the examination period is not enough, it makes the students nervous in the examination.
He said, “BJP always believes in people, works to solve people's problems throughout the year. As a result, today the people of the country and the people of the state understand that if the country and the state are to be strengthened; only the BJP government should be given the responsibility of running the country and the state.”
Highlighting various developmental initiatives that have been undertaken by the BJP-led state government, the Chief Minister said that the developmental projects are being implemented with transparency and for which no movement has been made by the state residents.
He said, “Work on many national highways is going on in the state, yet the central government has sanctioned 7 more national highways, for which the central government has sanctioned Rs 10,222 crore.”
The road from Dharmanagar to Agartala will be in 4 lines, in which Dharmanagar to Agartala will be reached within two and a half hours, he added.
“Today the state has many railways added, many railways are running, airplanes are running, medical colleges are established in the state, medical system is developed, internet trend is brought to the hands of the whole world. Rail will also go from Tripura to Bangladesh,” Dr Saha said.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that the people of the state will give a chance to establish the BJP government again.
BJP vice president Tapas Bhattacharya, Secretary Yadav Lal Nath along with district level leadership of BJP and Minister Bhagwan Das were present in the rally.
The 'Jan Biswas Yatra' rally which was flagged off by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Dharmanagar in North Tripura, reached Kumarghat on Saturday.
"The opposition parties are creating trouble... but the law and order situation is quite good in the state with police showing zero tolerance to any sort of crime. The NCRB data suggested the situation in Tripura is good compared to other states," Saha said.
Leader of Opposition in Tripura Assembly Manik Sarkar on Friday had alleged deterioration in the law and order situation in the state.
Asserting that the BJP is a must for making the county stronger, the Chief Minister said the people of the country should be proud to have a leader like Narendra Modi, who is leading the country from the front on the development path.
"Without any demand or agitation, Modi ji has given broad gauge rail facility from Dharmanagar to Sabroom via Agartala. As many as 11 express trains are connected to Agartala railway station. Besides, Indo-Bangla railway link is also making progress," he said.
Saha appealed to the people who are still supporting opposition parties - CPI(M), Congress and Trinamool Congress - to join the saffron party to make the state 'atmanirbor' and strong enough. FD PD JK
