Tripura CM Chairs High-Level Meeting on Tripura Power Sector Development

Agartala, May 19 (FD) Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday chaired a high-level review meeting with senior officials of the Power Department at the TIFT Conference Hall in Agartala to assess the progress of ongoing power infrastructure projects and discuss measures to strengthen Tripura’s electricity network.
Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath was also present at the meeting, where officials of the Power Department
and the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited briefed the Chief Minister on the status of key projects and future development plans for the sector.
The review focused on transmission infrastructure, rural electrification initiatives, modernization of the power distribution system, and steps being taken to improve service delivery across the state. Officials also discussed existing bottlenecks affecting project implementation and strategies to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply in both urban and rural areas.
During the meeting, Dr. Saha emphasized the importance of completing all ongoing projects within the stipulated timeframe and directed officials to maintain greater efficiency and coordination in execution. He said a reliable and robust power infrastructure is vital for industrial expansion, economic growth, and overall public welfare in Tripura.
The Chief Minister also underlined the need for adopting modern technologies and strengthening the electricity network to meet the growing power demand of the state in the coming years. FD JK
