Tripura CM addresses 18th foundation day of AGMC

Agartala, Sep 26 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha attended the 18th foundation day of AGMC on Sunday.
In his address Dr. Manik Saha said, the state government has always taken steps to improve the efficiency of the hospital and many major operations have been performed here in the past.
The state government aims at building a medical hub in Agartala Medical College. A dental college will be started in the state soon. For the same purpose, representatives of Dental Council of India have visited Tripura on 24 Sept, the CM said.
Dr. Manik Saha asked the students, professors and other staff in the college to actively participate in building the AGMC as an art of excellence. Presently, complicated and major health operations are conducted in the AGMC hospital and therefore the state government is moving towards establishing super specialty hospitals. He also reminded the nano-medical staff of their duties. The state government expects the cooperation of AGMC authorities and the development of the hospital in the future ahead.
Among the addressees in the program were the health secretary Dr. Debasis Basu, medical education officer Dr. Chinmay Biswas, Medical super of GBP hospital Dr. Sanjib Debbarama, Agartala Government Medical College president Dr. Manjushree Roy. The program was opened by a speech from the chairman of organizing committee Dr. Tapan Majumder.
Students of various departments were given merit awards at the foundation day ceremony. A cultural program was held by the students. FD DM JK
