Agartala, Nov 17 (FD) To fulfill the long cherished demand of the people the council of Ministers has taken decision to open a dental college.
The decision to set up the dental college was taken by the council of ministers on Thursday chaired by Chief Minister Manik Saha, who is also a famous maxillofacial dental surgeon of the state.
The decisions included are release of jobs for the unemployed ahead of the state assembly elections slated for February next year.
Addressing a press conference at the civil secretariat here, state Information and Culture minister Sushanta Chowdhury said “The council of Ministers has given approval for opening a dental college in the state. It would be housed at the G7 building of IGM Hospital here”
A delegation of Dental Council of India has already inspected the structure of IGM Hospital and expressed their satisfaction.
Elaborating other decisions, the minister said, the cabinet has approved for recruitment in various posts including 263 warders in Jail department.
17 Ward Secretaries are to be recruited soon in Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC).
Chowdhury said, the cabinet also approved filling up of 15 posts of Food Inspectors (Group C) under the Food department. In this connection a notification would be issued soon and the recruitment process would be taken place through TPSC.
He said, total 263 posts of warder, both male and female, would be filled up under the Jail department soon.
Besides, the cabinet also decided to create 10 new posts under the Department of Information Technology, Chowdhury added.
Announcing other decisions the ICA minister said, as per the cabinet decision the internship allowances for Vet Science students would be enhanced from Rs. 8000 to Rs. 9600.
Moreover, all 576 Home Guards would now get dress allowance of Rs. 3895 every year, he said adding, an annual expenditure of Rs. 22,43,520 would be required to implement the decision.
Besides, the cabinet also approved Chief Minister's Special Scholarship for Divyangan Students. Under this scheme, the blind students in colleges to get Rs. 5000 per month, he said.
“The Cabinet also decided to fill up 34 vacant posts in Tripura Legislative Assembly through direct recruitment”, Chowdhury said.
He said, the results of JRBT-conducted written examinations would be declared in the next few days. FD PD JK
