Agartala, Aug 28 (FD) The Tripura Legislative Assembly on Friday unanimously congratulated ace judoka Asmita Dey for winning the gold medal in the women’s 48 kg category at the recently held Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where she represented India.

Speaker Rampada Jamatia read out a formal congratulatory message in the House, which was unanimously adopted by the members.

The Assembly praised Asmita’s outstanding achievement, describing her success as a proud moment not only for Tripura but for the entire country. The congratulatory message said that her remarkable accomplishment would be remembered as a golden chapter in the history of Indian sports.
