Tripura’s Debasmita Bal shines, Secures 9th rank in IAS Exam

Agartala, Oct 29 (FD) Agartala’s Debasmita Bal, a distinguished former Tripura Civil Service (TCS) officer, has achieved an impressive milestone for her state by securing the 9th position in the highly competitive IAS main examination. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results on October 25, placing her among the nation’s top ranks.
Debasmita, currently serving as Assistant Director at the Sports Authority of India (SAI), is now set to receive a posting in the IAS or possibly the Indian Foreign Service (IFS).
Raised in Agartala, she was a high-achiever from Bhawan’s Tripura Vidya Mandir before pursuing her B-Tech at the Northeastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) in Arunachal Pradesh and her M-Tech in Rajasthan.
Her career began at TATA Consultancy Services (TCS), and she later joined the Central Water Commission. In 2020, she cleared the TCS exam, serving as a Deputy Collector in Belonia for two and a half years.
