Transport minister inaugurates a prepaid auto and taxi services in MBB airport

Agartala, 29 Sep (FD) Tripura Transport minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Tuesday inaugurated a prepaid auto rickshaw and taxi service from Agartala airport to elsewhere in the capital city .

Minister said that a management committee was formed with the representatives of Transport, police, tourism, district administration and airport departments which would have the authority to take decisions in case of any problems. A total of 235 auto rickshaws have been registered for the prepaid service.

The inaugural program was attended by Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder and director of Airport Authority of India KC Mina.

A primary prepaid chart is followed, according to which the prepaid service will be available to Agartala city and 73 suburban areas.

Roy said the interaction between drivers and passengers somehow affects the portrait of the people of the state and government to the tourists.

Development of the tourism industry is not possible without effective communication, he said adding the state government has always been working to provide facilities and convenience to the tourists.

MLA Dilip Das also spoke at the program. The welcome address was delivered by Special secretary of Transport department Sandip R Rathore. FD DM
