Tragic Accident on Assam-Agartala National Highway Claims Two Lives

Agartala, Aug 25 (FD) In a devastating incident that occurred around midnight on Thursday, a dumper truck collided with a parked Tomtom near South Pulinpur on the Assam-Agartala National Highway.
The collision resulted in the unfortunate deaths of two Tomtom drivers, Sanjoy Das and Shakti Das, who were conversing inside the vehicle at the time of the accident. Another individual, identified as Tinku Sarkar, sustained severe injuries and is currently fighting for his life at Teliamura Hospital.
Eyewitnesses reported that the dumper truck was traveling at high speed when it veered off course and crashed into the parked Tomtom. Local residents immediately alerted the Fire Service, who swiftly arrived at the scene to rescue the victims. The injured individuals were rushed to Teliamura Hospital for medical treatment.
Law enforcement authorities have revealed that the driver of the dumper truck fled the scene following the accident. Police efforts are currently underway to locate and apprehend the absconding driver.
The tragic incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of road safety and adherence to speed limits. The local community is left in shock and mourning due to the loss of lives in this unfortunate accident. FD SB
