Agartala, Nov 09 (FD) TIPRA Motha, which rules Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) will organize a mass gathering at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala on November 12 next, TIPRA Chief, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma said.
A delegation of the party also would go to Delhi on December 1 next to hold a demonstration at Jantar Mantar, Debbarma told a press conference here.
“We were supposed to hold the mass gathering on November 6 last, but it could not be held as permission was denied by police on the plea that Prime Minister would visit the state during this time. However, now we have the clearance to hold a gathering on November 12 next”, he said.
Debbarma said 2000 Tipra Motha supporters from across the state will travel to Delhi to stage a protest at Jantar Mantar.
Earlier, Debbarma attended a public rally at Gandachhera Degree College ground on Sunday in which he condemned both the CPM and BJP.
He alleged that the contractors are looting the fund in the name of road construction. The contractors who were looting money during the CPM rule are now making money with BJP flags. He also claimed there is no rule of law in Tripura.
“Tiprasa people are being deprived in the Raima valley area as well as in the whole state. The indigenous people were earlier evicted from the area during construction of dam at Dumboor on the river Gomati. Tiprasa were evicted to make it a Tourist spot”, he said.
Altogether 3119 voters of 1037 families joined Tipra Motha quitting BJP and IPFT, party sources claimed.
He said, TIPRA would give a strong fight during the next assembly elections to be held early next year. FD JK
