Tipra Motha stages walkout in the assembly

Agartala, March 24 (FD) TIPRA Motha party, the main opposition in the Tripura assembly today staged a walk out before the election of the speaker in protest against improper seat arrangements and abstained from voting.

Immediately after the assembly session started, the leader of the party, Animesh Debbarma raised the objections on seat arrangement and staged a walkout.

Later, Debbarma told reporters that his party would play the role of a “constructive Opposition” in the assembly  by raising questions in people’s interest and other ways democratic norms like reference notice, private member resolution etc.

TIPRA Motha party has 13 MLAs in the sixty-member house and it was declared as the main opposition. FD JK
