By Firstdespatch Desk Sep 16, 2025
Agartala, Sept 16 (FD) In a major organisational move ahead of the upcoming Village Council (VC) elections, the TIPRA Motha Party has announced the formation of Booth, Village Council, and TTAADC Constituency (Block) level Election Management Committees across Tripura.
The restructuring, aimed at consolidating the party’s grassroots presence, was confirmed on Monday through an official notification issued by TIPRA Motha President B.K. Hrangkhawl. Party founder Pradyot Bikram Manikya, popularly known as Bubagra, has also endorsed the decision, signalling the leadership’s focus on strengthening organisational depth before the polls.
To supervise and streamline the process, the party has appointed observers in 15 different TTAADC constituency blocks. Key appointments include Mrs. Dolly Reang for Damchharra-Jampui, Mr. Ratish Tripura for Machmara, Mr. Philip Kumar Reang for Dasda-Kanchanpur and Ganganagar-Gandachharra, Mr. Rajeshwar Debbarma for Chhawmanu and Manu-Chailengta, and Mr. Manab Debbarma for Raima Valley.
According to the notification, these observers will coordinate closely with district and block presidents of the TIPRA Motha Party and its frontal organisations, including the Young TIPRA Federation (YTF) and the TIPRA Women’s Federation (TWF). They have been tasked with extending full support and cooperation in building robust committees at every level to ensure effective election management.
The party has set a deadline of October 14, 2025, for submitting the final list of committee members to Bubagra Pradyot Bikram Manikya.
Party leaders believe this organisational restructuring will not only strengthen TIPRA Motha’s preparation for the Village Council elections but also help consolidate its grassroots base across TTAADC areas. Political observers say the move reflects TIPRA Motha’s determination to retain its stronghold in tribal areas and counter growing competition from other parties ahead of the polls. FD JK
