Three new girls hostels to be set up in Tripura: SC Welfare Minister

Agartala, Oct 29 (FD) Three new girls hostels would be set up in Tripura under the Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhatrawas Yojana (BJRCY) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, government of India, Scheduled Caste (SC) Welfare Minister Bhagaban Das has said on Friday.
Announcing the details of the development in press conference at Civil Secretariat, Das said, the new hostels would be set up in three different locations of the state.
He said, a 100 bedded girls hostel would be set up at Rangamati Higher Secondary School under Gomati district, a 50 bedded girls hostel would be constructed at Hrina Higher Secondary School in Thaibang Gram Panchayat under Sabroom Subdivision and a 50 bedded Hostel would be built at Pabiacherra Higher Secondary School under Kumarghat Sub-division.
The SC Welfare Minister also informed that the Cultural Ministry of India has approved a financial assistance of Rs 2 crore to set up bronze made statues of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Kumarghat and Dr B.R Ambedkar at Kunjaban, Agartala.
He said, the state SC Welfare department has allotted Rs 1.5 lakh to set up a fiver made statue of writer Aditya Malla Barman at Aditya Guesthouse in Office-Lane, Agartala.
Preparations have been made to unveil the statue by the first week of November, Das added.
