Three day CPI-M state conference to begin on Jan 29, four politburo members to attend it

Agartala, Jan 23 (FD) The 24th state conference of the opposition CPI-M will begin here on Jan 29 and will end on Jan 31, state party Secretary and member of the central committee, Jitendra Chowdhury said on Thursday.
He said, this conference is being held after three years and prior to the conference many conferences in the branches, sub-divisional committees, district committees were held.
“Altogether 38843 members of the party of different layers have participated in the conferences and finally 411 delegates were selected for the state conference”, Chowdhury informed a press conference.
He said, earlier they applied for Swami Vivekananda Maidan for the open session on January 29 but the government did not permit them on the plea that a fair of the SHGs would be held there on that date.
Then Chowdhury spoke to the Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha asking for commencement of their conference at the ground of the Umakanta school, which is likely to be available.
Four politburo members of the party including Prakash Karat, Brinda Karat, Ashoke Dhawale and Manik Sarkar will attend the open conference. FD JK
