Three-day autumn session of the Tripura assembly to begin on September 4

Agartala, Aug 28 (FD) A three-day autumn session of the Tripura legislative assembly will begin on September 4, Speaker Biswabandhu Sen said.
He said this decision was taken in a meeting of the 8-member business advisory committee (BAC) held here today.
Sen said a special bill would be tabled to ensure benefit to all elected MLAs. If the bill is passed then once a member takes oath as an MLA will enjoy all benefits including pension and related benefits.
Even if he remains MLA for a single day, he will enjoy all benefits.
Sen said, an appropriation bill will also be passed, no private members bill or resolution has been placed and accepted for discussion by the BAC meeting.
He said, from this session all members of the house would be able to hear proceedings in their preferred language like in Bengali, English and Kokbarak, a language of the tribals of the state as those will be translated mechanically and automatically for members to hear in their preferred language.
“Our main purpose is to facilitate appropriate comprehension of the contents of discussion as well as promotion of Bengali, Kokborok and English languages; it will be done this time”, speaker said. FD JK
