TET-Qualified Aspirants Seek Simultaneous Recruitment, Threaten Larger Agitation

Agartala, Sept 24 (FD) Unemployed youths who qualified for TET-1 and TET-2 in 2024 gathered at Shiksha Bhavan in Agartala on Thursday, demanding the immediate and simultaneous recruitment of all successful candidates.
The aspirants sought to meet the Chairman of the JRBT Board to press for action on their demand. They said they had been waiting for government employment since clearing the examinations and alleged that repeated attempts to meet Chief Minister Manik Saha and Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy over the issue had not resulted in an opportunity for discussion.
The candidates urged the government to expedite the recruitment process and fill the available posts without further delay. They warned that failure to take action would compel them to launch a larger movement in the coming days.
One of the protesting aspirants alleged that, instead of receiving a response from the Education Department or the state administration, the protesters faced police action, including the use of water cannons and detention.
He further alleged that several women protesters were knocked down and dragged towards police vehicles during the action. These allegations could not be independently verified.
“We passed the TET and have been waiting for jobs for a long time. It is almost the end of 2026, but there is still no clarity on our recruitment,” the aspirant said.
He also alleged that protesters were threatened with FIRs and cases that could affect their careers.
The aspirants maintained that their primary demand was an explanation as to why all successful candidates could not be recruited together. They urged the government to address the issue through dialogue and provide clarity on the recruitment process. FD JK
