Tenant inconvenience with land mafia harass pensioner woman to evict her from own land

Agartala, July 17 (FD) A small businessman, who is a tenant in the house of pensioner woman is threatening the owner to sell the house for 7 lakh rupees at Milanchakra area, near here.

When the woman, Kanti Rani Bhattacharya,a partially handicapped and spinster filed an FIR against the tenant at the Arundhutinagar police station, police is yet to react for unknown reason.

The helpless woman today told reporters the tenant is in league with the local land mafia has hatched a conspiracy to evict her from her own land.

The woman in her complaint to police also alleged that the man at night hurl abuse at her in drunken condition at night and even threatened to set fire the house unless she vacate the house.

She was earlier working at Tripura University. Now in pension. The tenants and land mafia of the area want to take advantage of the fact that he has no sons and daughters. 

She also sought the interference of the Chief Minister, Dr Manik Saha for punishing the culprit and let her live in peace. FD JK
