Suspected murderer of house wife Anamika Acharya arrested

Agartala, May 17 (FD) In a significant breathrough, the personnel of the Agartala women’s Police station here arrested a suspected criminal involved in the sensational murder of a house wife Anamika Acharya at her flat in Durga Chowmuhani area of the city.
The incident occurred on May 15 after her husband Rahul Bhattacharya, an officer of the Axis bank left for his office at Belonia.The body of the deceased was recovered by police and neighbours with severe head injuries and later sent for a post-mortem.
The police after registering a case of unnatural death and later converted it into a murder case after seeing the post-mortem reports and CCTV footages in the flat Police stated that they arrested one Sushanta Roy, a resident of another flat in the same complex as he was spotted entering into the flat in absence of Anamika’s husband.
After the arrest, Roy could not explain, why did he enter into the flat and is being intensively interrogated by police to unearth the truth. Sources said that Sushanta Roy was trying hard to be close with Anamika and was rebuffed.
On Thursday last he made the same attempt and was refused by her and it is presumed that she was hit by any heavy thing on the back side of her for which she was murdered.
Police are investigating the case further. FD JK
