Sushanta inaugurates Asian Junior Tennis tournament at Malancha Niwas Complex

Agartala, Sep 12 (FD) Tripura Sports Minister Sushanta Chowdhury has inaugurated the Asian 16 and Under Ranking Junior Tennis Tournament at Malancha Niwas Complex on Monday.
The tournament was organized by Tripura Tennis Association in collaboration with Asian Tennis Federation and All India Tennis Association organized the event.
This event will continue till September 17 next. Players from Bangladesh including West Bengal,Assam,Odisha, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan are being participating in the Asian tennis tournament. State team players also participated in this tournament. The minister was visibly happy to see the arrangement. The representatives from
Sports Minister Sushant Chowdhury said "Sport is the only medium in which no boundaries are defined. The sense of nationality is strengthened through the game dust, a mixture of kinship is formed. Through this, the dream of one Tripura, the best Tripura, will be built."
Nassaf Ahmed of Bangladesh defeated Crystal Sarkar of Tripura in 3.6, 6-2 and 6.4 sets. Bangladesh's Zarif Abra won 6-I and 6-3 sets against West Bengal's Pragoshpama Gayen. Winner Mehra will play Bangladesh's Nasaf in the pre-quarter finals.
In the girls' under-16 category, Sarah Louise Gomes defeated Rive Mehta 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (10.8) in a three-hour and twenty-five-minute battle. Tripura's Tui Geelang Debbarma fought back and lost 3.6, 1-6 to the skilled Kapoor.
Tripura's other player Saptatanu Ghosh lost 0-6, 0-6 to Tanus Ghildayal.
