Student’s movement spreads like wild fire against abnormal failure rate

Agartala, Sept 5 (FD) The students MBB and BBMC College today demonstrated before their institutions to protest against abnormal failure rate in the first semester examination.
Theses Colleges are affiliated to the state MBB University.
The students of the same year of the Ramthakur College affiliated to Tripura Central University had blocked the national highway on the same ground. However, the road blockade was withdrawn following persuasion by the police officials.
The students today demonstrated before the state-run MBB by the students of BBMC and MBB colleges for exceptionally high failure rate.
The demonstration, which started at about 11-00, am in the morning with students protesting against capricious and callous attitudes of the teachers to evaluate their answer sheets.
Even many assistant and associate professors engaged their senior students to evaluate papers just before the date of result out.
When the demonstration was going on the principal of BBMC college Ratan Deb, controller of examination of MBB University Jyoti Prasad Debbarma, Registrar of the university Sumanta Chakraborty and Vice Chancellor of the university Satyadeo Podder spoke to the students and assured that the students can review their answer sheets.
But not being pacified by the words of the Principal and the Vice-chancellor they continued their road blockade and demonstrations.
At one point of time a group of police personnel led by Officer-in-Charge of East Agartala police station led by officer-in-charge Rana Chatterjee reached the spot and persuaded the students to withdraw their blockade.
However, the students stated that they will organise protest demonstration tomorrow again. FD JK
