Agartala, May 17 (FD) Inefficiency in duty has led to the suspension of one official and show cause notices to six officials of the Animal Resources Development Department (ARDD) and Fishery Department by the state government. Addressing a press conference at the Civil Secretariat, ARDD and Fishery Minister Sudhangshu Das on Tuesday stated that a section of government officials had been working against the government's rules and regulations, attending office without proper permission, and taking leave without prior notice.
Upon visiting the department, the minister found many loopholes and bad practises that needed to be resolved, and he urged officials to follow government guidelines. The minister claimed that 95% of the work culture in his department had returned and government employees were working following government norms. However, one government official in Kailashahar has been suspended, and an inquiry is underway against two individuals for their inefficiency in duty. The government has also issued show-cause notices to six more officials, and two individuals have received warning letters.
The Minister acknowledged that the manpower in the department was low, but recently, some people had been recruited through outsourcing, and the government had sent files to TPSC for more recruitment of staff and veterinary surgeons. He also revealed that the Department of Animal Resources Development had assisted 35,044 families in animal husbandry under the Chief Minister Swanirbhar Parivar Yojana in the last financial year.
The state government's actions demonstrate its commitment to ensuring that all government officials follow rules and regulations. The Minister's efforts to root out inefficiency and bad practises in his department are commendable, and his department's assistance to thousands of families in animal husbandry is noteworthy.
