Agartala, Dec 09 (FD) Even as the state government has taken initiative to improve the infrastructure for improved power generation, it is delivering power service to every corner of the state without increasing the tariff, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma said on Thursday.
“Tripura government is delivering power services to every corner of the state without increasing the tariff. The power infrastructure in the state is being improved,” Varma said after inaugurating 5 newly built power schemes at Geet Bitan in Khayerpur.
The 5 power schemes are included, 33 KV sub-station in Khayerpur, 33 KV sub-station in Kathalia and 33 KV sub-station in Rani.
Apart from that, newly built transmission line of 132 KV Rukhia-Rabindranagar and 132 KV Udaipur-Bokafa have also been inaugurated.
The Deputy Chief Minister said, about 40 thousand consumers will be benefitted by these 5 new schemes.
He informed that the power connections are provided through solar micro grid where it is not possible to provide power connection.
Solar study lamps are being provided to boys and girls for studies, he added.
“So far, 3 lakh solar study lamps have been distributed. Solar street lights are being provided through a state government scheme, Gramin Bazar Alo Prakalp in the rural markets,” Varma said.
Solar water filters have been installed in rural areas, he said.
The deputy chief minister also pointed out that 49 new sub-stations have been set up after the present government took over.
“Total 60 sub-stations will set up in coming days,” he assured.
The Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly Ratan Chakraborty was attended the programme as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering Chakraborty said, about 10 thousand consumers of Ranirbazar, Khayerpur and Old Agartala areas will be benefitted as a result of enhancing capacity of the sub-station in Khayerpur.
Managing Director of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited Debashish Sarkar and TSECL GM Transmission, Ranjan Debbarma were also present in the programme.
A documentary on 5 newly built schemes was shown in the inaugural programme. Later, the guests later visited 33 KV Khayerpur sub-station. FD PD JK
