Agartala, Apr 23 (FD) As temperatures soar across the state, residents are urged to take precautions against the prevailing humidity and intense heat. The Meteorological Department has warned that this weather pattern will persist for the coming days, prompting the state government to declare a localized disaster situation.
In response, the Revenue Department has issued a set of vital recommendations to mitigate the impact of the heat wave. Citizens are advised to refrain from outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., stay hydrated by consuming ample water, and opt for light cotton clothing while using umbrellas or hats for sun protection.
Additionally, the consumption of high-protein or stale foods is discouraged in favour of homemade beverages like lassi, lemon water, and buttermilk.
The district administration is actively engaging with local disaster management authorities to disseminate these guidelines and ensure the establishment of emergency assistance centres and quick response teams.
Furthermore, farmers are encouraged to prioritize field irrigation and provide adequate shelter for livestock during peak temperatures, emphasizing community safety amidst the challenging weather conditions. FD SB
