Special session of Jharkhand assembly begins with welcoming of newly elected MLAs

A four-day special session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly began in Ranchi with the welcoming of newly elected members to the house. This session has been convened to enable the newly elected MLAs to take the oath and elect a speaker.
The Protem Speaker, Stephen Marandi, is administering the oath to the newly elected members. This will continue till tomorrow. After the members take the oath, the election of the Speaker will be held, followed by a trust vote for the Hemant Soren government. Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar will address the assembly on Wednesday and thereafter second supplementary budget of the current financial year will be tabled in the house.
