Agartala, Mar 1 (FD) The houses in the remote Battapara, a nondescript village under Ganganagar block in Dhalai district on Saturday for the first time lighted up, thanks to the TREDA for coming their aids.
The Power minister of the state, Ratan Lal Nath today visited the remote village and initiated the project.
“I feel truly fortunate to have been able to bring light to a village where people had never seen electric lights before, even after so many years of independence. My sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under the PM-DevINE project initiated by him, TRAEDA, under the Department of Power, has achieved this remarkable feat in Batta Para”, Nath said after inaugurating the project.
Electric lights, powered by solar energy, along with other essential facilities, have been provided to all 46 families in Batta Para and 36 families in Shambhuram Para. Streetlights have also been installed, and proper water facilities have been arranged.
“The smiles on the faces of these humble people, who had only a few basic needs, feel more precious than all the happiness in the world. Wishing my dear people a happy and prosperous life”, Nath added. FD JK
