Six Bangladeshis arrested from Jirania

Agartala, Nov 8 (FD) Six Bangladeshi nationals including three males and as many from third zender community were arrested from Jirania railway station, near here, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team of GRPF, BSF and Tripura police raided the Jirania railway station and traced that six Bangladeshis bought railway tickets and were waiting for a train to Mumbai.
“When we asked to show their identity cards, they failed to do so. Then during preliminary investigation they revealed that they crossed the border with the help of touts and were planning to go to Mumbai in search of jobs. They had no valid documents”, officer in-charge of GRPF police station of Agartala, Tapas Das said.
He said, they are being interrogated at the Agartala GRPF police station and many more are expected to be arrested in connection with this case.
A case was registered in Agartala GRPF Police Station and would be produced before a Court.
In separate incident, In an operation, jointly carried out by BSF and Railway Police, GRP, six Bangladeshi nationals without possessing valid documents were apprehended at Agartala on Nov 7 last. The apprehended Bangladeshi nationals included one woman and two transgenders persons.
In another operation three Bangladeshi nationals including 02 minors were apprehended by BSF troops of BOP Samrupara under PS Kailashahar district Unakoti while they were trying to exfiltrate to Bangladesh. All the three Bangladeshi nationals are family members and residents of Maulvibazar, Bangladesh.
A statement from BSF, Tripura sector headquarters said that the preliminary inquiry is going on. BSF is maintaining a high level of alertness in the international border to prevent infiltration. FD JK
