Sikkim: DGBR Lt Gen Raghu Srinivasan Reviews Road Restoration

Director General, Border Roads (DGBR) Lt. Gen. Raghu Srinivasan undertook a three-day visit to North and East Sikkim to take stock of ongoing restoration and construction works on various roads starting from Tuesday. On the first day of his visit, Brigadier Manoj Gupta, Chief Engineer of Project Swastik briefed the DGBR on various works including ongoing restoration works and progress made on the proposed National Highway Double Lane work erstwhile Bharatmala Pariyojana in Sikkim.
After making a quick assessment of ongoing restoration works, the DGBR visited the State Governor Om Prakash Mathur at Raj Bhavan and the Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang in Gangtok today and briefed them about the restoration works. He also assured them that as the monsoon season is about to end in the state, restoration work will be expedited.
The DGBR also interacted with the State Chief Secretary and apprised him about various challenges being faced by BRO in the State during ongoing restoration and proposed National Highway Double Lane work in North Sikkim. The Chief Secretary assured the DGBR of all the possible support from the side of state administration.
