Sikkim: CM Prem Singh Tamang-Golay Announces 50th Statehood Anniversary Plans

In Sikkim, the 78th Independence Day was celebrated with full zeal and traditional fervour. Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay hoisted the National Flag, followed by a parade at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok. Addressing the people, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of cultural preservation amidst technological advancements and emphasized environmental protection. He urged citizens to participate in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.
The Chief Minister also announced a year-long celebration for Sikkim’s 50th statehood anniversary. On the occasion, he also unveiled the official logo and jingle for Sikkim’s upcoming 50th statehood anniversary and released a Strategic Urban Vision Document SK UD 2047.
Various state-level awards including Police Medals for Meritorious Service, State Meritorious Service Awards and several other awards were also presented during the event. Major Pema Dorjee Bhutia was awarded his role in “Operation Snow Leopard.”
