Seven Bangladeshi Nationals Apprehended in South Tripura’s Amzadnagar

Agartala, April 14 (FD) Seven Bangladeshi national have been apprehended at Amzadnagar in Belonia in South Tripura district.
Acting on a tip-off, a contingent police led by Sub-divisional Police Officer and the officer-in-charge of Belonia police station intercepted a Maruti Eco van and found seven Bangladeshis inside.
Police arrested the driver of the vehicle, Raju Biswas and seven Bangladeshis identified as as Robin Hossain (29), Mohammad Rafi (25), Amjad Hossain (27), Shahidur Zaman (28), Fayzal (24), Rehan Molla (21), and Giyas Uddin (35).
They claimed that they belonged Awami League party in Bangladesh and entered into the Indian territory by sneaking into the Indian territory through Amzadnagar on Saturday morning.
During interrogation, they revealed that they entered Indian territory by the help of an Indian tout.
They further revealed that they were subject to torture by the anti-Awami League forces and tried to reach to Agartala.
Police recovered seven Android smartphones, one keypad phones, Rs. 1,64,780 Indian currencies and 1935 Bangladeshi Taka. FD JK
