Agartala, Aug 19 (FD) The Faculty Development Centre which was approved by the Ministry of Education for Central Sanskrit University in Ekalavya campus here was inaugurated on Thursday.
Prof. ShrinivasaVarkhedi, Vice Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University in New Delhi, Prof. Ganga Prasad Prasain, Vice Chancellor of Tripura Central University, Prof. Gopabandhu Mishra, Department of Sanskrit of Kashi Hindu Vishwavidyalaya, Dinesh Kamathji, All India Organization Minister of Sanskrit Bharati and Kamal Sharma, State Minister of Sanskrit Bharati were present in the programme.
The first training programme under the centre is Sanskrit Teacher Training programme which will continue from August 18 to 29 next.
The inaugural session of the training programme was presided over by Prof. Shrinivasa Varkhedi, Vice Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University in New Delhi.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Varkhedi highlighted the scientific structure of Sanskrit language and regarded it as the suitable field of Computational Linguistics.
He stressed on the importance of bridging the gap between Sanskrit and Modern Subjects by introducing new Modem disciplines in the University so that a proper medium of interdisciplinary studies can be created.
He even intimated that scholarship amount for NER students have been increased in the University.
The Vice Chancellor of Tripura Central University remained present as the Chief Guest.
In his speech, The Vice Chancellor stressed on the importance of promoting Sanskrit at mass level and regarded National Education Policy-2020 as a conducive policy in promoting Sanskrit at national level.
Prof. Gopabandhu Mishra of Kashi Hindu Vishwavidyalaya, attended the same as Guest of honour when Kamal Sharma, State Minister of Sanskrit Bharati (Northeast wing) also remained present as Special Guest. Dinesh Kamathji, All India Organization Minister of Sanskrit Bharati too graced the session.
In his speech, Kamathji emphasized the importance of Sanskrit in promoting Bharatiya culture.
Prof. Sukanta Kumar Senapati, Director of Central Sanskrit University, Ekalavya Campus, Agartala, also graced the dais.
