Agartala, Sept 24 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday claimed that the NDA alliance would win at least 90 percent of the seats in the upcoming Village Committee elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
The Village Committee elections are scheduled for September 28, with the BJP, IPFT and Tipra Motha Party (TMP) contesting together as NDA partners.
Speaking to reporters, Saha said the three parties were jointly contesting the elections as part of their alliance arrangement.
“Anyone can remain assured that the NDA alliance will emerge victorious with a minimum of 90 percent in the Village Committee elections,” the Chief Minister said.
Asked about his participation in the campaign, Saha said the BJP had not so far asked him to campaign for the elections. He described the polls as a village-level exercise handled primarily by elected representatives and organisational leaders.
“These village-level elections are mainly handled by our elected representatives. My leaders have not asked me for any electoral campaign so far. If required, they will certainly inform me,” he said.
Saha reiterated that the NDA partners were working together in the Village Committee elections and expressed confidence in the alliance’s prospects. FD JK
