Agartala, Mar 26 (FD) Three ruling allies of Tripura, BJP, Tipra Motha and IPFT have formed a coordination committee to oversee the campaign for the candidates of Tripura’s two parliamentary constituencies and one by-election, party sources said today.
The three member coordination committee comprises BJP State president Rajib Bhattacharjee, Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Manikya and IPFT president Prem Kumar Reang was formed on Monday last for better coordination of election works including campaign.
Elections for the West Tripura parliamentary constituency and byelection to Ramanagar Assembly seat will be held on April 19 while voting for Tripura East Lok Sabha seat will take place on April 26.
BJP state president, Rajib Bhattacharjee said the coordination committee was formed on Monday in presence of the Chief Minister Manik Saha, founder of Tipra Motha, Debbarma and IPFT chief Reang for better coordination of the election management and campaign.
All the three members, who are contesting the parliamentary elections and the bi-election, are from BJP.
The candidate of the East Tripura (reserve) constituency, Kriti Singh Debbarma is the elder sister of royal scion Pradyot Debbarma is contesting in BJP ticket, who will file her nomination on April 28.
The candidate of the West Tripura constituency, Biplab Kumar Deb, the incumbent Rajyasabha MP and former Chief Minister will file his nomination along with by-election candidate, Dipak Majumder on April 27.
Bhattacharjee said massive rallies would be organized before submission of nomination by the BJP candidates. FD JK
