Agartala, Mar 29 (FD) Chief Minister Manik Saha claimed on Friday that the rule of law has been established ever since the Marxist rule ended in Tripura and that the law and order situation has improved gradually in the state.
Addressing a poll rally at Mandwai, about 20 km from here, Saha said the opposition political parties alleged that law and order had collapsed in the state, but it had improved only after the BJP government was established in the state. “The rule of law was established ever since the BJP government was established in the state, and the law and order situation improved gradually.
According to the record of the central government, Tripura secured the fifth position last year, and now it has improved to the third position in the country," Saha, who is also the home minister of the state, said. He said the Tripura government has established good governance following the orientation from the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
Saha said that the government introduced 33% reservation in jobs for women and awarded 5% DA recently to government employees. He said, PM Narendra Modi believes that the overall development of Tripura will be possible if people from all communities, including tribals, are socially and economically empowered.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes that Tripura can be developed if all sections of people, including the tribal and non-tribal, are empowered socially and economically. He is the ‘Choukidar’ of the country who keeps his vigil to establish a corruption-free society and the establishment of the rights of the common people, '', Saha said. He said the 23-year-old vexed Bru problem was solved by the central government after signing a quadruple agreement by the state, centre, and Bru communities and sanctioning Rs. 600 crore for their rehabilitation.
Saha said the state government has sent a proposal to the central government for the upgrade of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) and to increase the seats from 30 to 50. He said the central government has sanctioned a special package of Rs. 100 crores for the development of the tribals, who constitute one-third of the population.
Saha said that when all the flagship programs of the central government were being implemented, more than five lakh people were enrolled in PMJYA, and five lakh self-help groups were created to economically empower women in the state. FD JK
