Agartala, Apr 21 (FD) The newly constructed Soundarya Chinmayi Mandir was inaugurated at Mohanpur on Tuesday in a major religious and cultural
celebration attended by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, and the Governors of Tripur
a and Maharashtra.
Bhagwat and Dr. Saha also participated in the Kumbhabhishekam ceremony, describing the temple as a potential centre of spiritual learning and knowledge in the state. They called upon people from across Tripura and beyond to visit the shrine and contribute to its growth.
The temple stands out for its unique architecture, carved from a massive stone formation rising about 15 feet and assembled using 27 stone blocks.
It is inscribed with sacred shlokas attributed to Adi Shankaracharya, adding to its spiritual significance.
Addressing the gathering, Bhagwat expressed confidence that the temple would gradually evolve into a major religious tourism destination. Chief Minister Saha said adequate open space has been earmarked around the temple to allow visitors to plant trees and participate in its expansion.
Several dignitaries attended the program, including Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, Rajmata Bivu Kumari Devi, Padma Shri awardee C.R. Raghavendra, Swami Nityananda of Chinmaya Mission, Swami Vigyanananda, representatives of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Chinmaya Mission Tripura president Amit Rakkhit, and secretary Keshav Lal Ray.
On the occasion, the Chinmaya Hari Hara Vidyalaya, a free English-medium school affiliated with the CBSE curriculum, was also inaugurated.
The institution is expected to strengthen access to quality education in the region.
The event marks a significant step in enhancing Tripura’s cultural, spiritual and educational landscape, with Mohanpur poised to emerge as a key hub for religious tourism and learning. FD JK
