Rs 1,64,605 crore investment is being done in various railway projects in Maharashtra: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has assured that Mumbaikar’s commuting will improve significantly in coming 5 years. He was addressing Press Conference in. Mr. Vaishnaw informed that, 1,64,605 crore rupees investment is being done in Maharashtra in various railway projects. He added that, 1,10,000 crore investment is being done in state in various Metro Projects.
Talking about new railway lines he said, 6 thousand kilometres of new track are being laid in the state. 132 railway stations are being improved under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
Mr. Vaishnaw said 320 kilometres of tracks were being laid in Mumbai and more than 16 thousand crores of investment is being done in Mumbai. He informed that, Kavach 5.0 will be implemented in Mumbai. It will help to reduce time between to suburban trains from 180 seconds to 120 seconds. He added that, new track and new technology will help to add 300 suburban local trains in Mumbai in next 3 years.
Mr. Vaishnaw has also informed that Country’s first Indian Institute of Creative Technology will be established in Mumbai. Union Cabinet has already approved it and it’s work will begin soon.
