Retrenched teachers in Tripura demand reinstatement by Nov 30, or warn to face bigger agitation

Agartala, Nov 26 (FD) The retrenched teachers (10323) of Tripura, who are on fast for the past 38 days, on Saturday thretened to launch a strong agitation unless they are reinstated by November 30.
The teachers, who are demonstrating before the Rabindra Bhavan here told a press conference that if the state government fails to do so, they will organize a bigger agitation across the state for which the government will be held responsible.
The teachers said, “We don’t have time, we want a permanent solution of the issue as per the RTI notification issued by the apex court of the country.”
He said, "As the state assembly elections are ahead, we want Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to address the injustice done to us with a constructive approach by November 30 next.”
The agitating teachers have warned that the ruling government of Tripura will be held responsible in case of any kind of disturbance prevailed in the state after November 30.
In 2014, all 10,323 teachers were dismissed by order of the Tripura High Court, declaring the entire recruitment process invalid and flawed in the wake of several writ petitions. The then left government filed an SLP (Special Leave Petition) in the Supreme Court challenging the High Court verdict. However, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal in March 2017. FD PD JK
