Agartala, Jan 10 (FD) Union Minister for law and justice, Kiren Rijiju today said real development of the North Eastern region in the country started in 2014 after Narendra Bhai Modi became the Prime Minister of the country.
Prime Minister Modi announced in the first meeting of the council of ministers that the country would develop if North-East develops.
”Country will develop when North-East would be developed. All the central government schemes will first start in North-East then in the rest of the country.”, Modi was quoted as saying by Rijiju.
Now there five ministers from the region, he added.
He came here to attend the ‘Jana biswas’ Yatra and delivered his lecture at Charilam in the poll bound state and appealed to people to vote for BJP.
When Congress was in power that time the number of MPS were very few, so they did not feel it necessary to look at North-East and it remained neglected, he said.
He asserted that people were aware about the welfare works and good governance delivered by BJP in last four and half years and he has full faith that people would vote for BJP. FD JK
