Re-poll ordered after serious irregularities in TTAADC constituency voting

Agartala, Apr 13 (FD) The State Election Commission has ordered a re-poll in two polling stations under the 10-Kulai-Champahaur (ST) constituency in the ongoing general elections of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). The decision comes after reported irregularities during the initial phase of voting.
According to an official press release, the affected polling stations include 3-Bhatimoydan SB School and 17-Ramdeb Thakur Para. Reports submitted by the District Election Officer, Returning Officer, and other officials highlighted incidents that raised concerns over the integrity of the voting process at these locations.
Taking serious note of these developments, the State Election Commissioner declared the polling process at both booths void. Consequently, fresh polling has been scheduled to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process. The re-poll will take place on April 16, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Authorities have assured that all necessary arrangements will be made to conduct the re-poll in a peaceful, free, and impartial manner. Adequate security measures will be deployed to maintain law and order and prevent any disruption during the voting process.
The Election Commission has also urged political parties, candidates, and voters to cooperate fully in maintaining the sanctity and dignity of the democratic process. Officials emphasized that ensuring free and fair elections remains a top priority, and any form of malpractice will be dealt with strictly. FD SB
