Agartala, June 15 (FD) RBI Agartala recently organised an all-India quiz on financial literacy for 207 schools across Dhalai, Unakoti, and North Tripura districts. A total of 621 students enthusiastically participated in the event.
The aim of the initiative was to instill the habit of saving, spending, and investing among students at government schools.
Two students and one teacher from each school were invited to take part in the quiz, promoting both student and teacher engagement. All participating students received a participation certificate, recognising their active involvement.
The top three students from each block were awarded merit certificates and cash prizes, acknowledging their exceptional performance. This incentivized students to strive for excellence in their financial literacy knowledge.
Furthermore, RBI Agartala officials utilised the occasion to spread awareness about various financial aspects such as the benefits and risks of digitalization, the rights of bank account holders, exchanging damaged or counterfeit currency, dealing with cyber fraud, complaint redressal mechanisms, the significance of health insurance, and distinguishing genuine currency from fake notes.
The quiz will be conducted in three stages: block level, district level, and state level. The block-level quiz is scheduled to be completed by June 17, 2023. Subsequently, the district-level quiz will take place from June 19th to June 23rd, 2023. The organisers aim to conclude the state-level quiz in the first week of July 2023.
This initiative by RBI Agartala highlights their commitment to promoting financial literacy among students and fostering a better understanding of financial concepts, ultimately equipping them with valuable skills for their future. FD SB
