Rajib Bhattacharjee takes oath as Rajyasabha MP in Delhi

Agartala, Sept 10 (FD) Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday administered the oath to newly elected Member of the Rajyasabha from Tripura, Rajib Bhattacharjee in Parliament House in New Delhi in presence of BJP President and Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda.
Bhattacharjee was elected to the Rajyasabha on September 3 after defeating CPI-M candidate and former MLA Sudhan Das in the by-election.
The lone Rajya Sabha seat in Tripura fell vacant after former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb relinquished and became MP from Lok Sabha from the Tripura West parliamentary seat.
Bhattacharjee (53) was appointed as the President of the Tripura unit of the ruling BJP chief in August two years ago.
He replaced Chief Minister Manik Saha, as he became Chief Minister of the state on May 15, 2022.
Bhattacharya was an activist of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for more than three decades. FD JK
