Rahul Gandhi met Tripura Congress leaders on way to Mizoram

Agartala, Oct 16 (FD) The Congress supremo Rahul Gandhi today made a brief stop over at Agartala airport en route to Mizoram and held discussion with the state Congress leaders about the party’s organisational affairs.
He arrived at Agartala airport by a chartered flight from Delhi at around 10 AM and was received by states Congress leaders, PCC president Asish Kumar Saha, party MLA and senior leader Sudip Roybarman, former MLA Dibachandra Hrangkhawal and former PCC president and sitting MLA Gopal Chandra Roy.
Roy Barman, who is a special invitee member of CWC said that Gandhi asked the leaders to strengthen the organization.
“We invited Rahul Gandhi to pay a two day visit to Tripura on convenient dates in the month of December and undertake a two-day ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Tripura to enthuse and inspire party workers and supporters”, Roy Barman told reporters.
The PCC president Asish Kumar Saha said that Rahul Gandhi has promised to consider visiting Tripura for two days after completion of Assembly elections in five states – Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram.
The Congress was at the helm of affair from 1962 to 1978 and for another five years from 1988-93.
The party contested the Assembly elections in February this year in a seat-sharing partnership with the CPM and won three seats in the sixty-member assembly. FD JK
