Purvaudaya felicitates journalists, Health insurance for Tripura media persons by Nov: Sushanta

Agartala, Sept 30 (FD) Purvaudaya, a local NGO, felicitated media persons on the eve of Durga Puja during a programme at Agartala Press Club on Thursday.
This year along with field reporters two senior journalists of the state, Jayanta Bhattacharjee and Chitra Roy were felicitated for their contribution to the field of journalism. JayantaBhattacharjee formerly with the PTI years served as professional journalist for 48 years and 37 years respectively with high standard of professionalism and ethics and Chitra Roy, formerly with the Dainik Sambad. They both are still in the profession and are contributing with honour and integrity.
Tripura ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury who attended the felicitation programme as Chief Guest said, Tripura government is ready to introduce health insurance for the media persons of the state.
He said, already official process, tender finalizations etc are in the pipeline and expectedly by November next the Health Insurance for journalists of the state will be announced.
“The health insurance policy of Rs 3 lakh will be at the rate of 80 : 20 – which means for example for a Rs 100 premium government will pay Rs 80 and the concerned media person Rs 20”, the ICA minister said.
The health insurance would cover all the treatments of the media persons covered under it any hospital of the country up to Rs 3 lakh.
The Minister also dwelt on the pro-media policies of the state government in his speech.
Agartala Press Club secretary Pranab Sarkar, Purvaudaya president Alaka Sinha and General secretary Niti Deb were attended the felicitation programme.
The welcome address was delivered by Avishikta Lodh, assistant secretary while Vote of Thanks by General Secretary Niti Deb who outlined the activities and ideas behind the service to the mankind- the motto of the Purvaudaya.
