Procurement of paddy with support price begins in Tripura: Minister

Agartala, Dec 02 (FD) Tripura government has decided to procure altogether 35,000 Metric Tons’ paddy at a Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 20.40, which was one of the poll promises of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The decision was taken in the Council of Ministers’ meeting held at the civil secretariat on Thursday.
As per the decision, the process of procuring paddy will start from the month of December from the farmers of the state, Information and Cultural Affairs minister Sushanta Chowdhury said on Friday.
Announcing the other decisions taken in the meeting Chowdhury said, “From now on there will be no need of any reference for availing medical treatment in hospitals outside the state established under the state government.”
Besides, the cabinet also decided that the Group A and Group B state government employees and their dependents shall receive reimbursement on submitting the bills from the hospitals after completing their course of treatment at the established hospital, he added.
Chowdhury also said, the government has also decided to recruit 200 junior engineers under PWD department.
"A proposal for filling 100 TES (Tripura Engineering Service) Group A and 100 TES (Tripura Engineering Service) Group B will be added to the previously announced 200 Junior Engineer positions, and the recruitment process will be conducted by TPSE," he said.
Moreover, the cabinet also approved the proposal of setting up techno India University in the state, the ICA minister said adding, the work of the institution will start soon. FD PD JK
