Priyanka and Rahul to visit Tripura next month

Agartala, Nov 21 (FD) Congress stalwarts like Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi would visit Tripura next month to strengthen the organization of the party before the next loksabha elections, a Congress leader said today.

Addressing a press conference here, AICC observer Zarita Lightflang and President of the opposition Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), Asish Kumar Saha said a meeting of the party reviewed the state’s law and order situation and the safety and security of the girls and women of the state.

“This is disgusting that the law and order has collapsed in the state and common people are deprived of getting justice from the law enforcement agencies. It is more frustrating that the women are not safe in the state and there are number of instances that women are being subject of insecurity due to the activities of the activists of the ruling party”, Saha told reporters.

He alleged that in every incident of attack on women police play a silent role and even when the victims go to police stations for filing FIR the police officials turn blind eye. FD JK
