President Murmu, Vice President and Sports Minister congratulate Commonwealth Games medallists

President Droupadi Murmu has congratulated Preeti Pawar on securing Gold Medal in the Women’s 54 kg boxing event at Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026. In a social media post, President Murmu noted that this memorable achievement is a testament to her composure, precision and exceptional skill. The President wished her continued success as she carries India’s sporting aspirations to new heights.

The President also congratulated Jaismine Lamboria on winning Gold Medal in the Women’s 57 kilogram boxing event. The President noted that her unwavering dedication, determination and remarkable performance have brought great honour to the nation. President Murmu wished her many more successes.

Vice President C P Radhakrishnan has congratulated Preeti Pawar and Jasmine Lamboria on winning the Gold Medals in the Women’s boxing events. Sharing a social media post, the Vice President also congratulated Praveen Chithravel on securing the Silver Medal and Selva Prabhu on winning the Bronze Medal in the Men’s Triple Jump event at the Commonwealth Games 2026.

Mr Radhakrishnan noted that their outstanding performances, hard work and determination have brought immense pride to the nation. Praying for their continued success, the Vice President wished that they bring many more laurels for the country.

Further, the Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan congratulated Soman Rana on winning the Gold Medal and Shubham Juyal on securing the Silver Medal in the Men’s Shot Put F57 event at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026. Mr Radhakrishnan extended best wishes to Jadumani Singh on clinching the Silver Medal in the Men’s 55 kg Boxing event. He said that each player has added to India’s glorious medal tally and made the nation proud. The Vice President prayed that the players continue to scale greater heights and bring many more honours to the country.

Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya has congratulated athlete Preeti Pawar on winning the first Boxing gold at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in the Women’s 54kg category. In a social media post, the Minister noted that the entire nation is incredibly proud of this achievement.

Dr Mandaviya has also congratulated Soman Rana for clinching Gold and Shubham Juyal for winning Silver in the Men’s Shot Put F57 at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. 

He extended best wishes to Praveen Chithravel on winning Silver and Selva Prabhu Thirumaran on securing Bronze in the Men’s Triple Jump event. The Minister said that watching two Indians on the podium once again is a massive proud moment for the nation. Dr Mandaviya prayed for their continued success.
