Agartala, Nov 29 (FD) Around 200 pilgrims from Tripura, returning from Vrindavan, faced a challenging situation at New Delhi railway station when they missed their Agartala-bound train due to a delay in their arrival from Vrindavan. Despite appeals, the Tripureshwari Express left without allowing them to board.
Stranded and with nowhere to go on Monday night, the pilgrims sought help from Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Pratima Bhowmik.
Currently in Delhi for official duties, Bhowmik promptly cancelled her flight and rushed to the railway station. She arranged accommodation and meals for the stranded pilgrims at her official residence and a nearby centre of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
Expressing concern for the pilgrims' plight, Bhowmik assured them of assistance and extended gratitude to ABVP for their support. She personally booked rail tickets for their travel to Agartala on Wednesday.
The pilgrims, grateful for Bhowmik's timely intervention, expressed their appreciation for her generosity and support during the challenging situation. FD SB JK
