Agartala, Dec 25: The three-month-long 'Prati Ghore Sushashon' drive launched by the BJP-led state government has achieved its goal of delivering central and state government-run schemes to the doorsteps of beneficiaries through mission mode, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said on Sunday.
Addressing the closing ceremony of the initiative on the occasion of Sushashon Day (Good Governance Day) to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Rabindra Satvarshikhi Bhavan here, Dr. Saha said the people of the entire state have embraced the initiative and it has been successful as the aims and objectives of the initiative have been fulfilled. Dr. Saha said steps had been taken to ensure 100 percent targets under the initiative.
“About 23 lakh people in all 8 districts of the state have benefited as a result of this mission-mode campaign,” Dr Saha wrote in a social media post.
The drive was started on September 17, on the birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
However, due to extreme climatic conditions, Puja vacations and few other reasons the drive was not completed on due date, which was November 17 last, Dr Saha said.
Earlier in the afternoon, the Chief Minister in presence of other dignitaries paid tribute to the former Prime Minister and recalled his regime stating a period of good governance.
Dr Saha recalled the contribution of Vajpayee during his regime and said he was a true visionary who worked for people with the support of people.
Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Assembly Speaker Ratan Chakraborty, Agriculture Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder, Principal Secretary JK Sinha and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. FD PD JK
