Pranajit Singha Roy reviews the preparedness for Diwali mela at Tripura Sundari temple

Agartala, Oct 22 (FD) A high level meeting Chaired by the state Finance Minister, Pranajit Sinha Roy on Monday reviewed the preparedness for the Kali puja and the Dewali mela (fair) at the premise of the Mata Tripura Sundari temple at Udaipur in Gomati District.

When the Tripura Sundari temple is considered to be one of the 51 Shaktipeeths of the country, Dewali Mela organised there is the largest of its kind, not only in the North-East, but in the entire eastern zone.

Thousand s of devotees throng the Tripura Sundari temple during the dewali festival to offer puja and attend the festival.
Sinha Roy said, Chief Minister Manik Saha was personally taking interest about the festival and started discussion on the preparedness of the festival.

“Thousands devotees from across the country visit the place. We have reviewed our preparedness for organizing the Mela as it becomes very crowded”, he told reporters at Udaipur.

He also said the DM of Gomati district earlier reviewed the preparedness.

Among the others, local MLA, Abhishek Debroy and District Magistrate(DM) Tarit Kanti Chakma, were present in the preparatory meeting. FD JK
